FILM ABOUT PITCAIRN
U.K. Photographers’ Visit (NZ. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 25. The New Zealand school teacher on Pitcairn Island, Mrs M. D. Howse. will welcome special visitors today. They are bringing about 100 movie films made in many parts of the world as a gift to the islanders. The visitors, three photographers from Britain, are from the oil tanker British Curlew. They will make colour film • about the tanker's visit and the discharging of 1600 gallons of kerosene, motor spirit and gas and lubricating oils for the homes, generators and other mechanical equipment. The island’s population of 150, the scenery, natural history and customs will all be included in the film. The photographers must complete their assignment within 13 days. Ship visits to Pitcairn Island are infrequent. The Corinthic will 'take the party off on September B—weather permitting.
