TOURISTS TO N.Z.
Manv On Working Holidays (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 25. More than 73 per cent, of the tourists arriving in New Zealand in the year ended March 31 last were on working holidays, said the Tourist and Publicity Department’s annual report, tabled by the Minister in charge of the Department (Mr Eyre) in the House of Representatives today. Other classes of tourists arriving to the nearest per cent were: Short-stay 3, long-stay 10, on business 17, theatrical and sporting 15. education 2. other classes and officials 2 Tire total number of tourists arriving was 76,457, or 5288 more than the previous 12 months, and immigrants 21.424, an increase of 1130. New Zealand residents returning, 43.890, were 11,364 more than in the 1959-60 year.
