Stratheden’s Visit
With nearly 1000 passengers aboard, the 23,000-ton P. and O. liner Stratheden will call at Lyttelton on December 29 for a two-day visit. This has been announced by the New Zealand agents for the company, the New Zealand Shipping Company. After spending a day at Stewart Island—its first place of call on arrival from Australia—the Stratheden will visit Lyttelton, Picton, and Auckland, It will leave Auckland early in the New Year.
The Stratheden, built in 1937 and registered at the Port of London, is today capable of carrying 529 first-class passengers and 453 tourist class passengers. Her gross weight is 23,732 tons.
