Kuwait
Sir.—While I do not favour the Kassem brand of politics I do. however, feel that the people of Kuwait would be better off under Iraqi administration than under the joint domination of a feudal ruler and oil combines. Had Kuwait been incorporated with Iraq Britain would have been able to obtain her petrol supplies at a reasonable price instead of
having to pay the exorbiant charge imposed upon ler by the oil monopolies. As things stand at present here is the possibility of British blood being died to make Kuwait safe for the »1 monopolies and a .millionaire sheik.—Yours, etc, JOHN FOSTER. July 4. 19G1. Sir. —Even by his own standards of dialectical obliquity. “PJAs" latest effort ir pretty staggering Anyone in the Russian camp who can moralise about the Western Powers appearing oefore the United Nations 'with blood on their hands" deserves an outside oscar for the biggest “double-think” of all time.—Yours, etcIL.AM. July 4, 1961.
