LAWRY’S CENTURY

Comparison With Bradman (N JZ.P.A .-Reuter— ComrrtgM) MANCHESTER. July 4 W Lawry’s sixth century of toe 1961 tour of England yesterday has led to a comparison of his performances with those of Sir Donald Bradman. In 1938 Bradman hit 13 first-class centuries, which still stands as the most hit by an Australian batsman on a tour of England. Lawry’s sixth century came in the seventeenth first-class match of the tour. While there are 15 more first-class matches to be clayed, no-one suggests that Lawry will equal Bradman’s feat, but it is an indication of his success on his first international tour.
