Springs-Ellesmere Annual Meeting I Views upon many matters ot mutual interest were exchanged on Thursday night, when representatives of the council of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society attended the annual meeting of the Springs-Ellesmere Sportsmen's Association at Leeston. The representatives of the council were Dr. D. McK. Dickson (president)., Messrs A. M. Ollivier and E. D. Farmer (members), and Mr E. J. C. Hay (secretary). They were welcomed by the president of the association. Mr W. L. Donald. The subjects discussed included the setting out of Lake Ellesmere, the recent | proposal for reclamation of an area at the eastern part of the lake, night shooting of Canadian geese, pond and ; stubble paddock shooting. .! paradise duck population, illegal shooting from power I driven boats, and the liberaJtion of salvaged trout. I The officers elected for the ensuing year were: patron, Mr J. H. McMillan: president. Mr W. L. Donald; vicei president, Mr J. F. Parkin; secretary-treasurer. Mr H R Barnett; auditor, Mr W. H. Fussell: executive, Messrs W J. Dyle, R. G. Allan. D. J. Ridden, R. B. Hill. E. L. F. Donald, G. J. Benny, D. H Tasker, A. C. Kilday, and E. D. Tapper.
