WELLINGTON. June 30. 'Pie House of Representatives started this morning by hearing 18 questions asked of Ministers by members. Papers tabled included the annua! reports of the Department of External Affairs and of the Government S’atistieian. There was also a report on New Zealand's participation tn United Nations, and an exchange of Notes between New Zealand and the United States regarding the provision of facilities for Antarctic expeditions. The Whangarei Harbour Baord Vesting and Empowering Bill was introduced by Mr D N. McKay (Government.
Marsden). It was read a first time, and passed to the local bills committee. The House then continued with the Address-in-Reply debate. The speakers were:— Opposition: Mr W. A. Fraser <St. Kilda). Mr R. Macdonald (Ponsonby), Mr S. A Whitehead (Nelson), Mr N. J. King (Waitemata), Mr R M Macfarlane (Christchurch Central). Government: Mr D. J. Carter (Raglan), Mr G. A Walsh 'Taunnga) Mr A. E. Allen (Franklin). Mr P B, Allen (Bay of Plenty). Parliament rose at 4.30 p m. until 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday?"
