HOCKEY MANAWATU SCORES THREE GOALS AGAINST INDIANS
fNew Zealand PALMERSTON N.. June 11. The Indian Wanderers beat Manawatn. 6-3, In Palmerston North on Saturday. The Manawatu goals came from two penalty bullies scored by the captain. B Turner, and a goal by L Henderson. Goals for the Indians were scored by Pirthipal Singh (3). Herbinder Singh (2) and Madan Moham Singh. Played under perfect conditions. the match produced the fastest hockey seen in the Manawatu this season The Indians showed that they can be given no room for movement, and their passing and trapping were of a standard that gave them a territorial advantage. Th~e speed in following an ahead oass was another factor giving them a definite edge over the home side. The Indians led 3-0 at half-time. and only the effort* of the Manawatu

Manawatu had its time on attack in the second half, when it showed an increased willingness to tackle, and d-v-loped more accurate passing. When Manawatu went into the Indian goal mouth, it swamned the Indiana by sheer weight of numbers. Manawatu's first two goals came after goalmouth infringements when Turner won the resultant ccnaltv bullies. The other Manaw-’u goal was scored when Henderson pu«hed the ball home from a wild goalmouth melee. The Indian Wand-rers will olav Taranaki in New Plymouth tomorrow.
