HOCKEY N.Z. Team For Australia To Be Announced Today

The New Zealand representative hockey team to tour Australia during July and August this year would be announced after a meeting of the New Zealand Hockey Association's management committee in Christchurch today, the chairman (Mr A. D. Holland) reported at a meeting of the committee last evening. Mr Holland made a statement in open meeting regarding the forthcoming tour after discussion in committee lasting almost two hours. The committee meeting would be held after the CanterburyOtago match at Williamson Park, he said. Players chosen to tour Australia would be required to assemble in Christchurch on Thursday. July 6. Mr Holland said. It was hoped to arrange practice games that afternoon and the next morning with the New Zealand team chosen to play against India at Lancaster Park on July 8. The Australian touring party would be invited to attend the dinner for the Indian team on the Thursday evening. A farewell luncheon would be held for the Australian team on Friday.
