Melody Man and Foglia d'Oro. two previous winter winners at Awapuni. are expected to dispute the finish ot the Palmerston North Handicap. the first leg of the T A B double on the opening day ot the Manawatu Racing Clubs i meeting tomorrow, Foglia d'Oro has the better recent form, but Melody Man will tie improved with his recent racing. The issue in the second leg of this double, the Stewards i Handicap, appears open, but Golden Candidate is the likelv favourite. At his last attempt over the distance he was successful in the Taipua Handicap at the Otak: meeting at Trentham. There has been ram during the week and the going is likely to be soft.
