Dollars Firm, £ Weak (NZ Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 7. A continuation of the hardening trend against rterMng by United States and Canadian currencies was again evident over the last fortnight, says the National Bank ot New Zealand in its review of the foreign exchange market. This followed the trend established during May and was due to a steady running down on working balances held tn sterling by traders and by the operations of speculators. In its present state, ft appears that the economic position in Britain will make it difficult tor the £ motUm to climb back 3e parity the United State* dollar.
