LESS AERO CLUB FLYING
May Hours Total Down There was a decline in the flj-ing hours of the Canterbury Aero Club during May. the total of 459 4 hours being five hours below that for May last year and 155 hours below the club’s monthly target, says the club's newsletter. Bohh of the club's branches showed increases in their total hours, but only 358.45 hours. 20 below the figure for last May. were flown at Christchurch. The Mid-Canterbury branch flew 45.4 hours during the month. an increase of 7.15 hours over test May. The first two months of the year saw 11055 hours' flying, an mcrease of 11.35 hours over the same period last year. Three members took private pilots' tests. Members of the North Canterbury branch flew 5.15 hours at Amuri and 50 hours at Rangiora: a decrease of 40 hours and an increase of 3250 hours respectively. So far this year the branch's total hours are 7655. compared with 9250 las*, year. The drop is because of the smaller demand at Amuni, but the total at Rangiora has increased by 34 hours.
