Protest At Delay By Minister

B. Barltrop. the organiser of the meeting yesterday. Mr Barltrop expressed disappointment that the Minister had not yet been able to meet a deputation from the City Council and representatives of the protest commit-

tee. but had found time to attend the opening of a Harewood service station. The Minister had met a council deputation on February 3 and promised earnest consideration and an early reply to representations for the use of the Christchurch airport by jet aircraft. Fifteen weeks was far too long to wait for a reply, Mr Barltrop said.
