WORLD GAMES SQUAD
Philpott As Fourth Man (NZ. Press Association) WELLINGTON. May 25. The New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association , has named G. F. Philpott, the national half-mile title and record holder, as the fourth man to make iip ’the squad to compete in the second world games in Helsinki early in July.’ ? This was announced today by Mr G. H. Geddes, the N.ZA.AA. secretary, who said that Philpott’s selection was subject to his acceptance by the Finnish athletic authorities. The other members of the team are the Rome Olympic Games winners,’ P. G. Snell and M. G. Halberg, and A. B. Magee, who was third in the marathon.
