TRACK AT EPSOM
Alterations To Be Discussed "Tii« Prea»” Special Service AUCKLAND. May 25. The race track at Alexandra Park. Epsom. remodelled at the end of last season and raced on for 16 nights this season, has been causing some concern to the Auckland Trotting Club committee and to owners and trainers.
It has not proved as fast as the former shell track and although several series of qualifying trial* were held only one horse qualified. Thai was at the last trials after the qualifying time had been altered to 3min 29sec tor the mile and a half. While the committee considers something should be: done to remedy the position it is seeking the opinion and sanction of members before: taking action and a special, general meeting will be held: on June 8. The object is to ascertain: whether members would con-: sider reconstructing the 1 levels and surface of the' present race track.
