FORBURY PARK

Lighting To Be Improved

"The Press" Special Serwica DUNEDIN. May 25. The Forbury Park Trotting Club will have improved lighting for its spring meeting on October 7. The committee has decided to have 14 new light standards erected in the home straight. They will be Spaced in between the present standards, but on the inside of the track. The two additional floodlights on top of the judges’ box and three more on top of the members’ stand will give better lighting in these areas.

The new fence at the south end of the track will be extended as far as the water tank near the* Richardson street gate and from there on at a lower level to the patrol box near the Plunket street entrance. This will assist in reflecting the light on the track.

A new press room will be built at the end of the members’ stand. It is intended to use the old press room for a totalisator for the benefit of patrons on the visitors’ stand. The balcony will provide extra accommodation for visitors, owners and trainers A new ambulance room will be erected near the members’ tearooms at the plunket street entrance. Drivers’ names on the board in the centre of the course will be made bigger. At the request of the Canterbury Trotting Owners’, Breeders* and Trainers’ Association the bell for the last lap will be placed at tha foot of the straight.
