Newton King To Adjust Pref. Div.
(N.Z. Press Assdciation) WELLINGTON, May 17. Newton King, Ltd., has decided to pay the final . dividend for the period ending June 30, 1961, on July 31 in order to bring the payment dates of the preference dividends in line with the new annual balance date. To make due allowance foi the 14-month accounting period, the company proposes to increase the dividend rate, for this year only, by 1 per cent. This rise is equivalent to two months’ dividend, at the previous year’s rate of 6 pe; cent. Accordingly, a final prefer- . enee dividend of 4 per cent. , will be paid on July 31, ex dividend on July 21, which ’ makes a total dividend of 7 . per cent, for the 14 months.
