Appeal Upheld In Wellingt on | (NJS. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 17. The Wellington District Racing Committee today upheld an appeal over the Motueka Hack Handicap which was run on April 22, placing Topa first, Last Link second, Munster King third, and Prince Command fourth. Mr N. H. MacDonald had appealed to the committee against the Nelson Jockey Club's decision to dismiss his appeal against first place being awarded to Munster King. In a statement issued today the Wellington District Racing Commitee said: "After hearing the evidence submitted to the Nelson Jockey Club, and hearing further statements from counsel for Mr N. H. MacDonald, owner of Topa, and Mr S. D. Vincent, owner of Munster King, Mr R. Jones, trainer of Munster King, and riders W. H. Beck, A. J. Stokes and J. H. Jones, and evidence from the stipendiary steward, Mr H. B. Lorigan and the patrol steward, Mr L A Pine, the Wellington District Committee decided to uphold the apeeal, and order that the placigs in the Motueka Champion Hack Handicap be altered to: first, Topa; second. Last Link; third, Munster King; and fourth. Prince Command, and that the appeal deposit be refunded.”
