Annual meetings held recently by members of the Canterbury East Federation of Country Women’s Institutes include:— Lincoln.— Mrs E. Carter presided at the annual meeting of the Lincoln C.W.I. Mrs H. Gardiner gave a talk on the "Peace” rose. Officers elected were:—President, Mrs E. Carter; vicepresidents, Mesdames D. Anderson. A. Johnston; secretary, Mrs F. Payne; treasurer, Mrs J. Bourke; committee. Mesdames I. Brcwn. S. Chesney, W. Page, P. McGrail, D. O’Connor. W. Templeton. A. Moreland, G Rennells. Templeton.—Mrs A. Button attended as voluntary organiser at the annual meeting of the Templeton C.W.I. Officers elected were:—President, Mrs D. Neale; secretary, Mrs H. Wheeler; treasurer, Mrs J. Curragh; committee. Mesdames J. Savin, G. Simpson, W. Sadler. M. Hill, J. Alsop.
Klllinchy.—Suggestions for next year's programme were given during the roll call at the annual meeting of the Killinchy C.W.I. Mrs E. K. Millar, retiring president, welcomed Mrs W. A. Pattison. Officers elected were:— President, Mrs T. Stevenson; vice-presidents, Mesdames A. M. Riches, T. E. Warren; joint secretaries, Mesdames E. K. Millar, S. Ansell; treasurer, Mrs A. G. Chappell; stewards, Mesdames G. McClure. T. Mcllraith: committee. Mesdames G. Allen. T. Free, K. Lemon. E. Martin; press correspondent Mrs K. G. Chappell Ukeside.-Mrs E. Alexanpresided at the annual meeting of the Lakeside CWI. Mrs A. H. Button spoke on institute matters. Officers elected were:—President Mrs C. Johnston; secretary, Mrs W. Brown; treasurer. Mrs M. Pohio; committee, Mesdames W. T. Larnbie. G. Barnett M Boon. A. Croft M. Nairn. W. Husband.
Doylertoa.—The Doyleston C.WI was visited by Mrs A. M. Riches for its annual
meeting. Mrs S. Horan was presented with a cup for most points in competitions during the year. Officers elected were: President. Mrs C. Taylor; vice-presi-dents, Misses L. Gillespie, J. Henderson; committee, Mesdames J. Batt, W. Tait, S. Bowen, W. Grant, R. Jury. D. Ridden. D. Coleman. J Canodus. W. Fussell. Southbridge.—-Mrs G. Healey presided over a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Southbridge C.W.I. when Miss I. Lewton was appointed delegate to the federation council meeting. Miss L. Gillespie displayed articles made from shells.
