HANDLING OF REVOLT
Tribute Paid To de Gaulle mz. Press Association) WELLINGTON. April 27. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) tonight paid a warm tribute to President de Gaulle for his handling of the revolt in Algeria. “I have been in close touch with our embassy in Paris during the crisis," he said, “and I have been deeply impressed by the decisiveness and devotion to principle with which President de Gaulle has responded to this very serious threat to Algerian and French liberties. “Had the rebellion succeeded, Algeria would have
suffered, France would have suffered, and Western unity would surely have suffered also.” said Mr Holyoake
