WORK OF UN. ASSOCIATION
Task For Branch In Christchurch A big job has been taken on by the Christchurch branch of the United Nations Association of New Zealand. At a meeting last evening members who attended the annual conference in Wellington, said the branch had been entrusted with the job of collecting suggestions from all the branches in New Zealand. The suggestions would deal with the more effective working of the association’s Dominion council, and the aim was to improve liaison between the council and branches. The branch accepted the task and will proceed with it immediately. The meeting was told of a proposal to sponsor a visit to the city by Dr. L. R. Bedggood, vice-president of the association and adult education tutor for South Auckland. Dr. Bedggood was an official guest at the United Nations headquarters in New York late last year. He also attended a seminar on international education at Armidale in Australia, in January.
