PARK BOARD DECISIONS

A.Z.R.U. View Stated (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 21. The New Zealand Rugby Union will tell the New Zealand Football Association that it cannot intervene in the affairs of the Victory Park Board, controllers of Lancaster Park, Christchurch The association had asked the union to use its influence to have the board alter a decision rejecting an application for use of the park for one of the English tour matches this season. The executive of the N.Z.R U has considered the request and the secretary (Mr G H. Geddes) has written the following letter: "The control of this park rests with the board which consists not only of Canterbury Rugby Union representatives, but the Mayor of Christchurch, representatives of the Canterbury Cricket Association and of the Commercial Travellers’ Association and a representative of other sports. “I am sure you will realise, therefore, that this body is not under our jurisdiction and it would be wrong if my union attempted to intervene in its affairs.”
