Statement From Association The problem of waiting lists for the new kindergartens at Hei Hei, Hornby, and Kendal street has been investigated by the zoning committee of the Christchurch Free Kindergarten Association, and the following report submitted:— “Parents of children on waiting lists for nearby kindergartens will be notified by letter of the opening date of the new kindergarten in whose area they reside. and must apply for admission to the new kindergarten as they are within its boundaries. They have no priority as waiting list transfers are not given when opening new kindergartens.” This was announced at a recent meeting of the delegates’ council of the Christchurch Free Kindergarten Association, at which Mrs A. F. Johnson presided. The supervising director ’Miss E. Millen’, made reference to the discussions held by the directors of kindergartens concerning suitable wall pictures for kindergartens. They had discussed the kind of thines young children would find interesting in pictures, the places best ! suited for them to be seen [bv very small children, and I the length of time they I should remain on the walls ilt was felt that pictures i should be pleasing and beauI tiful. but that thev should be tested as to whether thev brought the child a clearer vision of reality.
