THURBER FROST
Stallion For Roydon Lodge The American stallion Thurber Frost which was bought last year by the Roydon Lodge Stud. Ltd., at Yaldhurst. left England on Thursday after serving a quarantine period of six months. Because of the prevalence of foot-and-mouth disease in England no fodder is allowed out of that country ! Feed for Thurber Frost on the voyage to New Zealand will be obtained in Ireland where the restrictions do not apply - Thurber Frost, a son of Adios and a Bill Direct mare which is a full sister to Dudley Hanover. one of the great freelegged pacing horses in the United States, will take the place of Captain Adios at the Roydon Lodge Stud. Captain Adios died after a short term at the stud in the Dominion. Thurber Frost is expected to arrive in New Zealand either late next month or early in May.
