One Match Played Only one match out of the three scheduled was played in the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association’s senior mixed grade competition at Wilding Park on Saturday morning. In this Cashmere I beat ElmwoodShirley by 5 matches to 1. In the other two fixtures, University, which has been assured of a win in the competil ion for the last few rounds, beat Opawa-Avonside, which has withdrawn, by default, and United beat North LinwoodAvonside by default. Two fixtures are set down for next Saturday, United v Opawa-Avonside and Elm wood - Shirley v. Cashmere 11. Because of Opawa-Avonside’s withdrawal. United will get the point for that match. Points after Saturday’s matches are:—University 6 Cashmere I 5. United 3. North J Linwood-Avonside 3, OpawaAvonside 2. Elmwood-Shirley 0 I Cashmere II 0.
