ASSAULT ON OLD MAN
Man Arrested In Auckland (N Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. March 19 A man has been arrested in connexion • with the assault on an elderly storekeeper in Freemans Bay last Thursday. He will appear in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland tomorrow. The man was arrested by detectives from the Auckland central police station on Saturday No trace has been found of a woman alleged to have been involved in the incident. The storekeeper, Mr Herbert O’Gara, aged 81. was severely oeaten about the head and chest while he was serving m his shop in Napier street A boy was in the vicinity of the shop when the assault occurred. A description was given to the police of a man who ran from the shop.
