Hamner Springs
Sir, —As a patron of Hanmer Springs during the past 35 years, I would like to express the opinion that a "modern sizeable pool for mixed clothed bathing” is desirable provided that the present women’s pool for the exclusive use of women is retained. Bathers who dislike nudity should be allowed to wear brief covering, children under “teenage” should be excluded from a nudist pool. During public holiday week-ends such as Easter one can scarcely force a way into the existing pool because young children are occupying the steps going down into it. It is little short of a marvel that there has not been a drowning fatality. One cannot regard nudity “en masse” as suitable for children of tender years. They should be sent to the pool provided for their age group. —Yours, etc., (Miss) E. L. OLDFIELD. March 16, 1961.
