INVERCARGILL FLIGHTS
Sixteen Return Trips Weekly
From next week Invercargill will be linked with Christchurch by regular Friendship and DC-3 aircraft services. There will be 16 return passenger 'Hights between the two cities each week.
On Tuesday Airlines of New Zealand will start flying to Invercargill through Timaru. Oamaru. and Alexandra three times weekly. The DC-3's of this airline will leave Christchurch at 2.40 p.m. on Tuesdays. Thursdays. and Sundays, arriving at Invercargill at 5.45 p.m. Return flights by the same route will run on Mondays, Wednesdays. and Fridays, leaving Invercargill at 7.45 a.m. This airline will be operating through Timaru for the first time.
The National Airways Corporation will replace its DC-3's on the run to Invercargill with Friendship aircraft on Monday. The corporation will make two direct return flights daily and one return flight on Sunday. The trip will take about one hour 20 minutes in the Friendships.
