German Aid To Poor Nations
(N^J’^.-Reuter—Copyright) WASHINGTON, Feb. 18. President Kennedy has welcomed “with satisfaction” an assurance from West Germany that it intends to continue its programme of assistance to underdeveloped countries.
A West German spokesman said after the President and the Foreign Minister (Dr. Henrich von Brentano) had conferred at the White House that his Government expected the aid programme would continue at the rate of about 1000 million dollars.
A continuing contribution by Germany to the task of helping developing nations •has been a goal of the United States Government.
