Swimming MISS FRASER DISCIPLINED

The president of the Amateur Swimming Union of Australia (Mr H. B. Ive) today denied that the world champion, Miss D. Fraser, had been banned from all future overseas trips. But he said she had been disciplined for refusing to swim a butterfly relay leg at the Rome Olympics by not being chosen for either of the teams to tour New Zealand and South Africa next month
During the week-end. the manager of the Olympic swimming team. Mr Roger Pegram, criticised Miss Fraser for refusing to swim the butterfly leg. He said her refusal had cost Miss J. Andrews second place in the butterfly event. Miss Andrews finished third. The teams selected yesterday are; For South Africa.—Misses J. Hogan (breaststroke), t Konrads (freestyle); and J. Konrads (freestyle), N. Hayes (butterfly).
For New Zealand.—Miss H. Bartier (freestyle), and K. Berry (butterfly).
