PLEASANT POINT EWE FAIR
Adult Market Buoyant
“The Press" Special Service TIMARU Feb. 20. An offering of about 12,000 adult ewes at the Pleasant Point ewe fair yesterday was 5000 to 6000 less than last year’s entry. Quality, however, was good. In spite of a smaller gallery of buyers there was a keen demand from the outset which was maintained throughout the sale. The market was buoyant and values were 20s to 25s dearer than last year. Values were: two and threeshear early shorn ewes, 69s to 795; two-shear early shorn, 60s to 81s; four-year ewes, 61s to 71s; good late shorn four and five-year .ewes, 47s to 565; medium, 39s to 465; light. 30s to 375; good August shorn four and five-year ewes, 55s to 625; medium. 43s to 495; light, 37s to 425.
