FREIGHTERS COLLIDE
(N.Z P.A .-Reuter— Copyright) TOKYO, February 20 The Japanese Maritime Safety Board said today tkat a 350-ton Japanese freighter had split to two but was still afloat, after a collision with a 8164-ton American freighter this morning off Makayaja. in Western Japan. The spokesman said the crew of the Japanese freighter Kihanmaru, had been rescued by the American ship. He said all the crew of the American freighter had been reported safe. The American freighter had sustained minor damage.
