A Few Wheat Yields
In spite of some virus, wheat yields do not seem to be so bad. Here are a few progress yields reported from North Canterbury properties early this week, with the harvest in each case part way through. On about 130 acres, part Aotea and part Arawa, the average yield was put at about 61 bushels to the acre, with Arawa doing the best and going to about 70. Off 65 acres there was an avfrage of about 45 bushels, off 15 acres of Aotea just under 50, off 27 acres of Cross 7 between 70 and 80, and off about 100 acres of Aotea close on 50 bushels.
