SUBSTANTIAL BEQUESTS
Aid To Crippled Children
Substantial bequests which will help crippled children in Canterbury and Westland are made in the will of Mr Henry Thomas Adams, a motor importer, who died in Christchurch on January 23, leaving an estate valued for duty at under £75,650. In his will, Mr Adams leaves his house and land at 20 Idris road. Fendalton, to the Canterbury and Westland branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society He also leaves household and personal effects, including plate, silver, china, glass, books, pictures, prints, furniture, and jewellery to the branch of the society. He requests but without legally binding, the sbciety to use his property in Fendalton as a home for, or centre for. the benefit of crippled children.
Mr Adams, in his will, left £250 to the vicar and church wardens of the Hanmer Anglican Church, to be used for the general purposes of the church, and private bequests amounting to £9200 and 1000 shares in Adams, Ltd., motor importers. The ■whole of the residue of his estate is left as a trust fund to the Canterbury and Westland branch of the Crippled Children Society. 1716 income from the trust fund is to be used in perpetuity for the benefit of the society.
