Professor E. G. L. Bywaters, professor of rheumatology at the post-graduate medical school of the University of London and honorary Director of the Medical Research Council’s Rheumatism Research Unit, Taplow, will visit Christchurch Hospital on March 8. The Medical Officer of Health in Timaru (Dr. N. T. Barnett) has been appointed Medical Officer of Health at Palmerston North in succession to Dr. L. F. Jepson, who recently took up duties as Medical Officer of Health in Christchurch.—(PA.)
