SOVIET ATHLETES FOR U.S.

High Jumpers Who Beat Thomas (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) NEW YORK, January 24. The Soviet high jumpers who beat the world record holder, J. Thomas, in the Olympic Games in Rome last year, will appear in three in-door meetings in the United States. The jumpers. R. Shavlakadze and V. Brum el, will be accompanied by the Olympic 10.000 metres winner. P. Bolotnikov, a coach and a trainer. They will compete in the New York Athletic Club meeting on February 17. the national amateur championships on February 25. and the Knights of Columbus meeting on March 3. All meetings will be in Madison Square Garden. It was not known whether Thomas would compete at any of the meetings.
