38,000 People Saw Cup
Thirty-eight thousand people were at Ellerslie yesterday for the Auckland Cup, which was run in fine, warm weather on a hard track. The attendance last year was 34,000. On-course the' totalisator handled £371,988 10s, including £78429 10s in doubles, against £316,424 last year. The grand total, on and offcourse for the day, was £637,691 ss. The aggregate turnover last year was £540,695.
