INQUIRIES AT ADDINGTON
Pierette was declared ineligible to start at any totalisator meeting for two months at an inquiry after the Middleton Handicap at Addington yesterday. Pierette broke for no reason with about five furlongs to run.
At an inquiry after a complaint by an official of the Canterbury Park Trotting Club. F. G. Holmes was fined £2O for offensive behaviour towards an official.
Frown’s barrier manners were the subject of an Inquiry after the New Year Handicap. I. S. Sutherland, his trainer, was warned that the horse’s barrier manners must show an improvement.
After an adjourned inquiry from the C. S. Howell Handicap on the first day a complaint was lodged against F. E. Newfield, driver of Johnny Guitar, on the grounds of interference to Raven Dew. Newfield was fined £2O.
B. G. Nyhan was suspended until January 30 at an Inquiry after the Lyttelton Handicap on Saturday. Nyhan was found guilty of careless driving. Nyhan drove Young Goughs in the rape. An objection to Young Gough’s second placing, on the grounds of interference to Meadow Cheer at the end of four furlongs and a half, was dismissed. An objection to Kenno way’s third placing in. the Introductory Handicap was also dismissed. The grounds of the objection was interference to Profitable. Kennoway’s driver. C. M. Laing, was fined £2O for careless driving. Court Out suffered slight injuries to a quarter before the start of the Stewards’ Handicap. Court Out was returned to the birdcage and was passed as fit to start after a veterinary examination.
