STOLEN CAR USED FOR ROBBERY
Cameras Taken From Lower Hutt Shop (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 31. A car stolen in the Hutt Valley yesterday was later used by two men for a smash-and-grab robbery at a chemist’s shop in Lower Hutt.
A person living near the premises heard a crash when a heavy pidce of iron was thrown through a window of the shop at about 2.30 a tn. today.
He made a call to the Lower Hutt police after he saw a car make a hurried departure down Victoria street toward Petofie. The car was found later at Shelly Bay. Police dogs taken to the spot failed to pick up any scent.
Movie cameras, projectors and cameras, one of them worth £B6, were stolen from the shop.
