Speed Events At Wellington
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 2. W. Over, a 19-year-old Manawatu skater, set records in the five mile and one mile speed championships at the national championship of the New Zealand Roller Skating Association at Kilbirnie. Wellington. He bettered the record in the five mile event —17min 14.4 sec—by and reduced the time of the one mile event from 3min 19.8 sec to 3min 16sec. In the free skating pairs championship, J. Ben fell and Miss Barbara Cossili, of Whangarei. gave a polished exhibition which approached the best American standards. Results:— Intermediate Men's 880 Yards Speed Championship, under 18.—G.
