Fast 20-Mile Road Race

In his first competitive run at more than 12 miles, Bob Perry acquitted himself well in the Rangiora Club’s 20-mile event this month by running the distance in 2:7:00. With Bill Kennedy, junior, he had intended to run the distance at six minute miles and that both were able to maintain this speed until the 15-mile mark was a worthy effort For Kennedy it was his second road race in five days. On the previous Saturday he ran in the 15-mile road race held in conjunction with the Canterbury-Otago-Southland triangular match at Rugby Park. Kennedy and Perry finished the Rangiora race together.
