Bowls SOUTH CANTERBURY CHRISTMAS PAIRS
(From Out Own Reporter) TIMARU. December 30. W. Finn (West End) 21, beat A. R Beck (Temuka) 17i In the South Canterbury Bowling Centre's Christmas pairs tournament, which concluded at the TimarU green today Beck was partnered by S. Cross and Finn by F Rawstorn The green was playing beautifully with a good wide draw and excellent finish, enabling bowls to be played. In the first two heads Beck established a lead of 5-0. and Finn caught him on the seventh head when the score was 6-6 There was fairlv even scoring until the score at the eighteenth h»ad was 17-14 tn favour of Beck. Then Finn got a four on the nineteenth, and went on to clinch the game.
