RECORD DEPOSITS AT P.O.S.B.

Deposits in the Post Office Savings Bank branch in Hereford street on Wednesday were the highest for some years, and probably the highest ever. The amount credited was £176,399 spread over 5099 accounts. On the .day the bank /opened for business after Christmas in 1959, December 29, the corresponding figures were £127,753 over 3554 accounts.
