E. Farley Wins NJ. Title
(A'eio Zealand Press Association) WANGANUI. Dec. 27. Defeating H. R. Cooper (Napier) in a shoot-off, E. Farley (Wanganui) today won the North Island rifle-shoo'ting championships at the Putiki range. It was the third success in the event for Farley, who holds the Wanganui-West Coast Rifle Association's belt for 12 months, Farley was also a member of the Wanganui team which won the North Island champion teams’ match. The Wanganui team of Farley, F. J. Sole, T. McClintock, H. Hughes and K. Monk scored 639 points, three more than the runner-up. New Plymouth. H. Rowley (New Plymouth) won the B grade championship and C. Wood (Napier) was the winner of the C grade championship. The winners of the other major events were:—Putiki aggregrate, N. C. Peterson (Levin); Marybank aggregate, H. R. Cooper (Napier); Taylorville aggregate, E. Farley (Wanganui) and H. R. Cooper (Napier). The championships were fired in fine weather and scoring reached a high standard, in spite of the strong wind.
