CONVICTIONS SET ASIDE
Rehearing Of Tax Case Ordered (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 15. An appeal by the Gideon Trading Company, Ltd., against convictions in the Magistrate’s Court on three charges of wilfully making false returns of income was upheld by Mr Justice Hutchison in a reserved judgment delivered in the Supreme Court today. His Honour set aside the convictions, and directed a rehearing.
