Motor-Cycling SURTEES TO RACE CARS

Britain’s world motorcycle champion, announced on a television sports programme last night that he had retired from motor-cycle racing and would concentrate on car racing. He will leave for New Zealand at the end of the month to drive in three races with the Lotus team. Surtees won motor-eycle races with regularity for nearly 10 years. He won seven world titles and was the first rider to win both the 350 and 500 c.c. Isle of Man T.T. races for three years in succession.
