Teachers’ College In Good Position The touring Teachers’ College cricket team was in a fairly healthy position at the end of the first day’s play in its match again North Otago at Awamoa Park, Oamaru. Teachers’ College won the toss, batted first and scored 175 runs. In reply. North Otago had made 121 at stumps for the loss of all its wickets. K. Hoskin hit up a creditable 38 for Teachers' College th gain top score of the innings. Other good scorers for Teachers’ College were B. Gardiner (24), G. Lane (35) and K. Klitscber (27). The North Otago bowler. J, Wilson, took four wickets for 39 runs. North Otago started very badly and at one stage was six wickets down for 27. However, the side managed to pull itself together and take its total to 121. The mainstay of the innings was P. Ryan, who looked quite at ease with the bowling. He scored 53. Bowling for Teachers’ College, P. Boal took four for 37 and M. Howell took three for 34. The Teachers' College player, G. Lane, was injured while batting, and G. Kane replaced him while the side was fielding.
