RESTRAINT URGED
Use Of Overseas Funds
(New Zeaurna Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 15. Transport operators, who accounted for a good slice of the expenditure of overseas funds in the purchase of petrol and vehicles, should be prepared to exercise restraint in present circumstances, said the No. 2 Transport Licensing Authority (Mr E. H. Langford) at a sitting in Auckland today. Mr Langford said there had been a Government statement on the position generally, and he had also to take judicial notice. “It behoves us all to exercise some restraint in the use of overseas funds in the public interest,” said Mr Langford “We should not be prodigal in the use of consumer goods that are available. The transport industry should overhaul operations to see that economy is exercised.”
