Industry In Opawa
Sir,—l support the contentions of L. Norton regarding the proposed noxious industry in Opawa. That is because I remember so vividly the old Opawa of gorse hedges, crackling broom, and oldworld orchards. Yet how truly does the paradox arise that in my letters of November and December, 1959, in which I set out some essential facts concerning the park area of my old home, “Fidaron,” I should have been so coldly ignored. And this in spite of the fact there must still be plenty of people in Opawa and St. Martins able to support my contentions. And as for L. Norton’s complaint about a week’s delay, why, the City Council has not yet even acknowledged my letter from Dunedin in 1951.—Yours, etc.. R. M. THOMSON. December 15, 1960.
