Scholarships Granted City Musicians
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 9. Miss Anna Lockwood, of Christchurch, has been awarded £2OO a year for two years to supplement her Royal Schools of Music scholarship, and Christopher Gray, also of Christchurch, has been awarded £4OO a year for two years’ study overseas. This was announced today in Wellington by the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Anderton). Miss Lock wood’s grant is for work in piano and composition and Mr Gray’s for the piano. Other grants were made to Michael McLellan, of Auckland, violin. Robert Bell, of Wellington, singing, and David Sell, of Wellington, school music.
